Gordon Logan, the founder and CEO of Sport Clips Haircuts, was recently recognized as the 2015 Vetrepreneur® of the Year!
Sport Clips Haircuts is proud to announce its Founder and CEO, Gordon Logan, was honored by the National Veteran-Owned Business Association (NaVOBA) with its Vetrepreneur® of the Year award. Maria Contreras-Sweet, the U.S. Small Business Administrator, presented Logan with the award November 16 at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh. The presentation of the 2015 Vetrepreneur® of the Year commenced the annual National Veterans Small Business Engagement conference.
Logan was in the United States Air Force from 1969 to 1974 and Air Force Reserve from 1974 until 1976. Before he enlisted in the Air Force, Logan completed his education at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT.) He later earned his MBA at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and opened three different salons with his wife, Bettye. That all came to a halt when they found out one of their employees had been embezzling money. This caused Logan and his wife to reevaluate their trajectory. Out of this, Sport Clips was born.
Logan’s renewed focus on a single brand allowed Sport Clips to grow into the successful franchise it is today. The revolutionary idea to cater a salon specifically to men and boys helped it stand out from the competition. Today, Sport Clips boasts more than 1,400 locations and a presence in all 50 states. The Logans have created more than just salons – they created an experience that men and boys can look forward to.
You can read more about Gordon Logan’s remarkable story in the November/December issue of Vetrepreneur® magazine.
Congratulations to Gordon Logan on this outstanding achievement! Sport Clips wouldn’t be what it is today without the hard work, dedication, and passion of the Logans.
